ACDC Portal 4.0

ACDC Portal 4.0 marks a significant modernization of the platform's underlying architecture. Behind the scenes, the Portal has been rebuilt on a more current technology foundation, with faster handling of spatial file submissions and a more efficient way of managing customer data connections. Together, these changes give the Portal a more robust, maintainable base and set it up to scale more predictably as usage grows.

This release also resolves a number of issues affecting submission and validation reliability. Submission failures that could occur during file uploads have been fixed, the validation summary view is working correctly again, and errors that previously interrupted the review process when accepting or rejecting a submission have been resolved. Resubmitted files are now recognized correctly, and validation checks now show the right error message when the wrong template has been used.

A wide range of administrative screens have also been improved to give clearer, more consistent feedback. Submitting an incomplete form when creating a project, content type, or user group now returns a clear message instead of a generic error, and trying to delete an office, user, or project that's still in use now warns the administrator rather than failing silently. Notification defaults no longer overwrite existing project settings, logo changes now display immediately, and access to ArcGIS Online settings is now limited to the right administrators.

New capabilities round out the release. Projects can now control whether external files are generated as part of a submission, uploads to ArcGIS are less likely to time out, and setting up an ArcGIS Online connection is more straightforward, with warnings to help prevent duplicate setups. Reviewing errors and warnings in the drawing viewer is easier thanks to an improved default zoom, and the Portal's spam protection has been updated to stay current with the latest requirements.

Alongside ACDC Desktop 6.1, which strengthened validation, data quality checks, and configuration control on the desktop side, ACDC Portal 4.0 extends those same gains to the web-based submission and validation experience. Together, the two releases give customers and administrators a more stable, better-governed, and more consistent platform for spatial data validation and standardized asset submission, whether they are working from the desktop or online.
